FAQ

1. How do I apply for Provisional Registration?
Click the link for applying for Provisional Registration and fill up the Online Application Form. Pay the requisite fee online. After successful submission of the Online Application Form take a printout of the Application Form. Get the Application Form signed by the Principal of the respective Medical College and submit it at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration along with all documents in original for verification. A set of photostat copies of all documents must also be submitted. If the online application is submitted after 90 days from the date of passing, a forwarding letter from the respective Principal for the delay must be attached with the Application Form. For Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), on receiving the Online Application Form the Council shall write to the concerned Embassies for confirmation. On receipt of the confirmation from the concerned Embassy the applicant must pay the requisite fees online and submit printout copy of the Application Form along with all documents in original including relevant copies of passport for verification at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration. A set of photostat copies of all documents must also be submitted. They should not pay the fee before the confirmation from the concerned Embassy is received. In all cases proof of online payment of requisite fees must be enclosed with the documents.

2. How do I apply for Permanent Registration?
Click the link for applying for Permanent Registration and fill up the Online Application Form. Pay the requisite fee online. After successful submission of the Online Application Form take a printout of the Application Form. Get the Application Form signed by a registered practitioner of Sikkim Medical Council Registration and submit it at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration along with all documents in original for verification. A set of photostat copies of all documents must also be submitted. If the online application is submitted after 30 days from the date of completion of internship an Affidavit in original for the delay must be attached with the Application Form. In all cases proof of online payment of requisite fees must be enclosed with the documents.

3. How do I apply for Additional Degree Registration?
Click the link for applying for Additional Degree Registration and fill up the Online Application Form. Pay the requisite fee online. After successful submission of the Online Application Form take a printout of the Application Form. Submit it at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration along with all documents in original for verification. A set of photostat copies of all documents must also be submitted. In all cases proof of online payment of requisite fees must be enclosed with the documents.

4. How do I apply for No Objection Certificate?
Click the link for applying for No Objection Certificate and fill up the Online Application Form. Upload all documents asked for. Pay the requisite fee online.

5. How do I apply for Duplicate Registration Certificate?
Download the Application Form from the Sikkim Medical Council Registration website and fill in the form. Pay the requisite fee in form of Bank Draft, drawn in favour of “Sikkim Medical Council Registration” payable in “Sikkim”. Submit the filled in Form at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration along with all requisite documents including the Bank Draft.

6. How do I apply for Name correction in Registration Certificate?
Download the Application Form from the Sikkim Medical Council Registration website and fill in the form. Pay the requisite fee online. Submit the filled in Form at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration along with all requisite documents.

7. How do I apply for Good Standing Certificate?
Download the Application Form from the Sikkim Medical Council Registration website in duplicate and fill in the forms. Pay the requisite fee for Sikkim Medical Council Registration in form of Bank Draft, drawn in favour of “Sikkim Medical Council Registration” payable in “Sikkim”. Purchase a separate Bank Draft in favour of National Medical Commission of required amount. Submit the filled in Form in duplicate at the office of Sikkim Medical Council Registration along with both Bank Drafts. Sikkim Medical Council Registration shall recommend the application to National Medical Commission if admissible. National Medical Commission shall issue the Good Standing Certificate.

8. Who can apply for Provisional Registration?
Any person, who passed MBBS of equivalent course recognized by Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission from an institute in India or abroad which is recognized by Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission, is eligible to apply for Provisional Registration. He/She must enroll himself/herself in an institute/hospital recognized by Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission for doing Compulsory Rotating Internship before applying for Provisional Registration. The Provisional Registration shall be valid for the period and terms and conditions laid down by National Medical Commission from time to time.

9. Who can apply for Permanent Registration?
Any person, who has completed the one year Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) in India after passing MBBS or equivalent course from an institute in India or abroad recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) or National Medical Commission (NMC), is eligible to apply for Permanent Registration. He/She must submit No Objection Certificate from a State Medical Council if the one year Compulsory Rotating Internship was done outside the State of Sikkim or Meghalaya (till Meghalaya Medical Council starts functioning). For FMGs the terms and conditions will be subject to Notifications/Orders issued by NMC from time to time.

10. Who can apply for Additional Degree Registration?
A Registered Medical Practitioner, who is registered under Sikkim Medical Council Registration and possesses a Post Graduate Degree is eligible to apply for Additional Degree Registration
